PROJECT INFORMATION

Our project wants to be part of the 2020 EU and UN priorities which aim at promoting social inclusion of women and female emancipation in our societies. The focus will be on the exchange of good practices in order to study the realities in the north and south of Europe and create an awareness campaign in order to reduce women discrimination and to contribute to eliminating all forms of prejudices and violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres.

First of all the target of the project are our students and we want them to change their minds and to be aware that both women and girls have the same rights as men and boys. Working on the project they will realize that they can change their habits and attitudes towards the female world and they will also be able to convince other people of the necessity of «changing their lives, opening their minds, united in diversity» as the Erasmus+ motto says.

The 1st year of the project will be devoted to improve our students’ knowledge about the female role in our societies. Our schools are situated in the South of Europe but we will develop an eTwinning community with countries in the North of Europe where women are more emancipated in order to compare experiences. As the decision-makers of tomorrow we need to empower our young students to make the right choices using an engaging approach. The activities will aim to generate greater interest in the female role in our societies by encouraging interaction and exchanging good practices between the three countries and their Etwinning partners. We will start from a survey on the attitude towards female role in daily life, we will study and compare legislations and incentives of the European Union.

During the 2°year they will have to transfer the acquired information, knowledge and good practices by creating a social awareness campaign to warn people against discrimination and prejudices, to raise awareness about the necessity of changing our lifestyles and becoming more sensitive towards the necessity of improving the role of women, of informing everybody on the female emancipation projects.

We will analyse and study examples of women that have had successful as well as women who have suffered violence. Thanks to the work of cooperation and exchange of “good practices” from each country we aim at contributing to:

  • reducing all forms of discrimination against women and girls everywhere;
  • making students aware of forms of female emancipation;
  • ensuring that all girls and boys have access to quality early childhood development, care and preprimary education so that they are ready for their education;
  • abolishing many of the barriers to women’s empowerment and equity,
  • reducing all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres;
  • galvanizing continuous collective action to build a gender-balanced world in which everyone has a part to play.

We want to involve as many people as possible: sts, families, staff, our local communities, women associations since we are sure that everybody will benefit from the activities and the project products will contribute to make them more inclusive. Sts with special needs and with social integration problems will be involved in the activities and they will be the protagonists of the workshops.

For the implementation of the project we will organise:

– 3 short-term joint staff meetings of two teachers from each school

– 3 short term exchanges of 5 sts plus 2 accompanying teachers from each school during which an «event» focused on activities on women in

– the educational and technical world

– in the business and digital world

– in social and volunteering world

– in sports

– 1 short term exchanges of 5 sts plus 2 Teachers and the principal for the results dissemination

– 6 long-term sts’ mobilities,

The final product will be

  • a practical guidelines to help inform about opportunities for women
  • some cortos on female conditions
  • an eBook with women’s stories that had been object of violence as well stories of female emancipation collected in the two years and in each country.
  • Posters with qr codes
  • a photographic eBook in which the best pictures taken during the activities will be published as a result of a contest,
  • conferences open to the community to present the best practices in our countries and in our virtual partners countries.
  • a project website where all the project products and the material produced (stories, videos, pictures, etc) will  be accessible to everybody. It will contain the best practices of both physical and virtual partners.

The «ad campaign» will be used for the dissemination of the results of the project and it will be officially presented during the conferences with Euro parliamentarians during which the sts will present the results of their works. The youth will act as multipliers in their own communities.

The project will take place over a period of two years and we are planning the following activities:

– 3 short-term joint staff meetings of 2 teachers;

– 3 short-term exchanges of 5 students plus 2 teachers from each school;

– 1 short-term exchanges of 5 students plus 3 teachers for the project dissemination;

– 6 long-term students mobilities, two for each schools, (3 September-October 2020 and 3 January – February 2021).

The short-term staff meetings will be very important since collaboration and a fair distribution of duties is essential for a good management and the success of the project. Teachers will have the opportunity to work together planning activities, organizing students’ exchanges, long term students’ mobility. They will define the evaluation criteria and dissemination activities. 2 teachers will take part: a social studies teacher and the coordinator.

The short-term exchanges of students will be important to make students know each other, to work together, to compare experiences, to develop competences, to share good practices and collaborate.

They will be offered the opportunity to develop their understanding of the diversity of European cultures and languages, and to acquire social, civic and intercultural competences. They will meet some women, they will organize special events and produce project material. By working together with women associations they will be given the opportunity to share and exchange experiences, opinions and values, to learn from the best practices and to build a better, more accessible and more inclusive world.

The long-term students mobility will offer participants the opportunity to experience classes by the hosts chools and work on the project. They will get in contact with a different culture and a different language. They will keep an online diary using Facebook and posting pictures on their activities on Instagram in order to involve their friends at home.

The last short-term staff meeting with 5 students and 3 teachers (teachers and the principals) will offer the opportunity to disseminate the results and evaluate the activities and the impact.

There will be a contest and the official project logo will be chosen by members of women’s associations. Two surveys will be created with Survey Monkey and the results will be used not only to see how much students know about the topic but, at the end of the project, the results will be compared with the evaluation survey to measure the results and see how their attitude will have changed.

We will encourage meetings, exchanges and debates since we think that it will be an effective and innovative method in the teaching and learning process. Students and teachers will cooperate creating videos, a collection of stories, informative material. We have decided to write an eBook with the most interesting real life stories and interviews because we are aware of the power of stories, they will stay with us for a very long time, they affect how we feel and they can make us happy or sad or both.

While the world has achieved progress towards gender equality and women’s empowerment under the Millennium Development Goals, women and girls continue to suffer discrimination and violence in every part of the world that’s why we want to involve as many people as possible in the project,: students from the age of 14 to the age of 18, their families, school staff, our local communities and women associations since we are sure that everybody will benefit from the activities we are going to organize and the project products will contribute to make them more inclusive.

We want to make our students, their families, their community aware of the fact that female condition is associated with social inclusion and that gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world.

Students will be involved in the activities and they will be the protagonists of the workshops. They will work in mixed groups and will have different tasks and in each school the team will choose their project managers, the storytellers, the social media PRs, the scouts, the bloggers, the analysts.

Teachers will supervise their work and guide them. There will be a constant exchange of ideas and information by what’s up, eTwinning or mails with friends abroad. Some of them will take part in the meetings and two from each school will join a long-term mobility during which he/she will have the possibility to attend school and work on the project.

Obviously both teachers and students of the Swedesh, Finnish, Austrian and Dutch schools will take part in the project via internet and they will provide us with material to compare the women’s  condition and best practices in their countries.

The students will be the target of all the dissemination activities and the beneficiaries of the material produced. They will be asked to answer a survey at the start of the project with general and country specific questions on the issue and one at the end to see if their attitude towards female inclusion, prejudices has changed. The results will be used to evaluate the project at the end and to monitor the impact the project has really had. The idea is to integrate as many people as possible creating awareness for the topic right from the very beginning.

A very important role will be played by the associations that will help us in the organization of the events and will provide us with reliable information about female condition in our societies. We will involve famous well known women as well as less famous that will talk to our students about their personal experiences. We will also involve Euro parliamentarians of each country, possibly women ( Mrs.Toia a member of the European Parliament Intergroup on Integrity who is actually working on «Women in politics in the EU e Women & Digital Jobs in Europe»).

We will collaborate with local authorities, local Europarliament departments, media and we will involve local schools in the dissemination activities.

Thanks to the work of cooperation and exchange of “good practices” we aim at contributing to

  • reducing all forms of discrimination against women and girls everywhere;
  • making students aware of forms of female emancipation,
  • ensuring that all girls and boys have access to quality early childhood development, care and preprimary education so that they are ready for their education;
  • abolishing many of the barriers to women’s empowerment and equity;
  • reducing all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other types of exploitation;
  • galvanizing continuous collective action to build a gender-balanced world in which everyone has a part to play.

Each school will host a short-term meeting focused on a particular sector in which women operate. During the meetings students will meet women of different ages who will talk about their experiences, motivation, explaining how you can change your life thanks to your determination. The students will collect the material and they will use it to create the following products:

  • a practical guidelines to help inform about opportunities for women;
  • some cortos on female conditions;
  • an eBook with women’s stories that had been object of violence as well stories of female emancipation collected in the two years and in each country;
  • Posters with qr codes;
  • a photographic eBook in which the best pictures taken during the activities will be published as a result of a contest open to students and the community;
  • conferences open to the community to present the best practices in our countries and in our virtual partners countries;
  • a project website where all the products and the material produced (stories, videos, pictures, etc).

will accessible to everybody. It will contain the best practices of both physical and virtual partner.

We want to amplify our campaign via social media as much as possible. It was said by «Equality is a core value of the European Union, and a principle we will keep fighting for. Equality between women and men is no exception. Europe ranks among the safest and most equal places for girls and women in the world….But that does not mean that we are there yet or that these achievements should be taken for granted. Also in Europe many women are still facing challenges, inequalities and threats in their everyday lives: abuses and harassment, lower wages, fewer job and career opportunities. And that is unacceptable». We want to contribute to making women live in a better world.

Our «awareness campaign» will be used for the dissemination of the results and it will be officially presented during the conferences in each school with Euro parlamentarians as guests during which the students will present the results of their works. The youth will act as multipliers in their own communities, starting with their families and friends convincing about the absolute necessity of convincing about the absolute necessity of eliminating prejudices and fostering women emancipation.

By the end of the project we estimate that the impact on the target group will have multiplied effects touching more and more people also because we will use social networks. We expect our students, their families and their communities to change their mind and be aware that they are the ones that can change habits and attitudes towards the women’s empowerment and equity in our societies. They are expected to realize that a gender-balanced world is a better world .

Our project is expected to contribute in informing people about the problems connected to violence against women and their integration in our societies. Through the project activities we bring together students and people with different beliefs and perspectives to learn from and share with each other, they will be given the opportunity to share and exchange experiences, opinions and values.

We expect our students will become Active Citizens who will be willing to make a fairer and more inclusive society, to be aware of the importance of exchanging best practices. The impact will be guaranteed by the wide spreading of the campaign and by the conferences and by the social networking that our students and families use a lot. There will also be an impact on students’ skills and more universal areas. They will improve language skills in foreign languages, experience the European reality using knowledge of languages as an instrument of understanding, know cultures of the partner school, promote personal development through cultural exchange, strengthen their autonomy and self-esteem, develop communicative skills and coexistence.

For teachers and participating schools, the impact will be on the improvement of language skills and methodological strategies, Teachers will have the opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the centers, to establish an intercultural friendship, to share educational experiences.

We want our project to attract the interest of local and national authorities that is why we will plan a closer cooperation with authorities, women association, European community since the beginning.

We also plan to study the public opinion in the context of changes in attitudes towards women and their inclusion. Our results and analysis will be made public in the form of diagrams on the project website and in local and national press in each country.

We will analyze the impact in the social networking with the «likes», «shares» and visualization of our publications in this media.

The impact of the long-term students’ mobilities will be measured with questionnaires given to students, parents and teachers to know the pros and cons of the experience. On the basis of the obtained results students will be given a certification to certify the acquired competences and results.

Finally, after analyzing the academic results, reports will be developed to disseminate and implement.

DISSEMINATION

The target of the first dissemination activities are the students themselves since they will be expected to change their attitude towards women and women’s role in the societies. Families and the staff will be the target of the social awareness campaign organized by the students, they will participate in the dissemination activities during the conferences and the special events organized on 25th November, 8th of March and all the other days connected to the female figure.

Since the material will be disseminated using the social networks we hope to reach a wider audience; we will inform the local media at regional, national and European level to raise awareness about the importance of an inclusive attitude towards women. We will collaborate with women associations, with European local representatives who will help us to widespread our campaign.

We will publish our results on the Erasmus + Platform for dissemination and exploitation of project results. In each school there will be a team responsible for the dissemination composed by the coordinator, a social studies teacher and ICT teachers and the principal. Particular attention will be devoted to the use of images and slogans in the social video students will produce. The ICT teacher willcheck that all the rules, the privacy and copyrights are respected, he will supervise the material loaded. Students’ representatives will collaborate as community managers to spread the information about this project in the social networking.

Dissemination activities extend beyond the duration of the project, and into the future.

-Before, during and after the students’ exchanges; pictures will be posted on school official Facebook pages and Instagram with the aim to involve as many people as possible and arouse interest. Students willalso prepare a video on the experience that will be shown to their friends at home. We want people to have a track of the whole project.

-During and after the long-term mobilities; students will keep an online diary using Facebook and posting pictures on Instagram in order to involve their friends at home. This dissemination activity will be evaluated by the teachers in charge of it.

Pictures will be posted on socials with the aim to involve as many people as possible. In each country the activities aim at changing habits of the people and making them more inclusive.

  1. A project corner will be created where students, parents and school staff can get information, can find information and curiosity on women’s stories.
  2. A display of posters and videos where material created on the best practices in the European countries will be available.
  3. The materials will be disseminated on e-twinning with the creation of an open space, on etwinning platform and on the project website created in the 1year and on the schoolweb sites. it will be the  schools duty to keep it alive.
  4. In the final part the main dissemination conference will be held in Italy. On that occasion all the products will be presented.

The team responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of the project will always evaluate the quality of the deliverables according to the measurable parameters: precision, accuracy, representativeness and completeness. They will supervise and monitor the correct realization of project activities, results, level of collaboration among the three partners and their participation, the students’ participation, the good level of communication in the partnership (use of technologies, etwinning,skype…), the realization of face to face meetings.

At the beginning they will prepare a survey (with Surveymonkey that produces graphics )to be given to students about women’s role in our societies and prejudices. It will be distributed to as many students as possible in each physical and virtual partner school. The results will later be compared to the ones obtained by a similar survey at the end of the project in order to monitor any changes in attitude.

After each meeting formal evaluation by means of a feedback form filled in by participants, host families, organizations and other school staff involved will be the tool we use in order to acknowledge mutual benefit, new experiences, to establish what can be improved and what proved to be superfluous or should be done in a different way.

We will use questionnaire for teachers after staff meetings, for students taking part in short/long-term exchanges and workshops, for parents of the students participating in the project, for teachers and students after the project.

Further evaluation will take place on individual level, ie. according to the procedures of each partner school for assessment of performance. Teachers will give their students individual feedback on their development regarding their academical achievements, eg. in foreign language learning, media technology, arts etc. The feedback has a direct influence on the students marks and credits in their school certificates.

As we are going to use social networks, especially Facebook, we will also count as positive the number of «likes» and «shares» of our publications. When we use Youtube to spread our project we will also count the number of visualizations.

As far as results/outcomes concern, at the end of the first year and after the final meeting we will take into consideration if they are in accordance with original aims ,with the project’s work plan; if there have been variations and if they have been justified.

We will assess if there is coherence between work plan and activities that will be carried out; if the partners have been involved and have contributed to the project; if there have been any changes to be done; if decision making and problem solving have been adequate; if internal communication strategy has been positive ;if expenditures are in line with project’s activities; if and how evaluation strategy is being implemented; if monitoring has been implemented.

Final products should be available and should correspond to those planned in the application.
